What We Learned

Elizabethton unable to keep pace with SHHS

The difference, frankly, was the beginning. Science Hill scored 35 points in the first quarter as they took a 56-34 victory over Elizabethton on Friday at Dave Rider Field. After the 35-point barrage, the Cyclones got on the board when Ethan Thomas scored from 74 yards out as they trailed 35-7 heading to the second quarter. Cloudland runs past Happy Valley

For the first half, it looked like Cloudland and Happy Valley was going to wage in another instant classic. However, the Highlanders made sure there would be no doubt. Cloudland put up 32 unanswered points in the second half as they rolled to a 46-14 victory over county rival Unaka on Friday night at Orr Field. Hampton, Unaka falls in Week 1 Action

It was a rough night for the Rangers and the Bulldogs. Unaka was unable to keep pace with the Patriots of Sullivan East as they fell 54-0, while Hampton seemed to be their own worst enemy as they fell 14-8 to Onieda. Sullivan East 54, Unaka 0 The Patriots jumped out to a 26-0 lead and never looked back against the Rangers. Unaka struggled to get anything going as they were limited to 65 yards in the game.
