Cloudland clips South in Mullins opener

The Cloudland basketball team overcame an early deficit and rolled to a 64-49 victory over Sullivan South on Wednesday in their opening game of the Mullins Thanksgiving Classic at Happy Valley. The Lady ‘Landers used five early points from Shian Strickland to hold an early 5-4 lead. However, the Lady Rebels went on a 9-0 run to pull out to a 13-5 lead. Hampton knocks off Sullivan South in Hardee’s opener

The Bulldogs jumped out to a double-digit lead and never looked back as they took a 62-51 victory over Sullivan South on the first day of the Hardee’s Classic at David Crockett on Monday night. Hampton raced out to a 16-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and then maintained that lead for the length of the second quarter to take a 31-18 lead at the half. On Thursday night, the Happy Valley basketball teams recorded impressive wins over Sullivan North. The Lady Warriors dispatched the Lady Black Knights 72-32, while the boys team picked up a 54-40 victory in the nightcap. In the women’s game, Kalee Johnson had a game high 20 points to power Happy Valley to the win. ETSU men’s basketball to host Tennessee in 2016-17
