Elizabethton’s Thomas named All-State

Elizabethton’s Ethan Thomas has added another accolade to his storied career as the senior was named to the Class 4A All-State team by the Tennessee Sports Writer Association. Thomas was selected as a running back for the team. He finished his senior year with 2,068 yards and 35 touchdowns. For his career, Thomas recorded 6,436 yards and 79 touchdowns. In addition. Thomas had 35 games with over 100 yards rushing, including 17 consective games. Elizabethton finished 2014 with an 8-3 record. Elizabethton sinks Hoover to win holiday tournament

Alabama powerhouse Hoover was poised to sink Elizabethton’s perfect season in the Carolina Invitational in Charleston on Tuesday afternoon. However, Kayla Marosites and the Lady Cyclones had a different plan. Marosites scored 34 points, including 26 in the first half, to propel Elizabethton to a 73-47 victory over Hoover (Ala.) in the championship game of the Palmetto Division.
