Cloudland’s Matt Birchfield has stepped down as the head coach of the girls’ basketball program ending a lengthy run at the helm of one of the area’s most prestigious programs. Sources to Carter County Sports confirmed earlier reports of Birchfield’s resignation. Lucas Andrews, who served as an assistant on this year’s squad, is set to replace Birchfield as head coach. The weather is looking great for this upcoming weekend, and it comes at a great time for the Cyclone Touchdown Club as the group is set to host the 8th Annual Golf Tournament for Cyclone Football on Saturday, May 2.
