Several teams wrapped up the 2015 calendar year on Wednesday. The Cyclones and Lady Cyclones have holiday tournament trophies to add, while several teams added wins to their record. Gray will have some Carter County flare for the Johnson City Honda Classic championship Thursday at Daniel Boone High School. Unaka coasted to a 72-49 victory over Unicoi County while Happy Valley took a 46-35 win to punch tickets to the title contest in the final day of pool play games on Wednesday. The championship is set for an 8 p.m. tip-off. Tuesday was statement day for several county teams with impressive wins. The Lady Cyclones picked up a win over one of Georgia’s biggest schools, while Elizabethton’s boys advanced to the title game of their home tournament. Happy Valley saw Kalee Johnson continue her impressive season, while the Warriors and Cloudland boys’ teams set the stage for the third meeting of the year. Big performances highlight Monday action

Big performances highlighted the opening day of Christmas tournaments for county teams on Monday. Perhaps the biggest performance belonged to Happy Valley’s Kalee Johnson as she set a new school scoring record 45 points and added 17 rebounds in the Lady Warriors’ win over Cherokee. Unaka’s Colton Chambers had a strong game with 37 points, but the Rangers fell 73-61 to Wartburg. Lady Cyclones dispatch East to win Holiday Classic

The Lady Cyclones will head into Christmas as champions. Elizabethton slowly pulled away from Sullivan East to take an 87-67 victory over Sullivan East on Wednesday night in the Doc Maples Christmas Classic Championship game at Tennessee High.
