Haun selected as Week 2 Player of the Week

Happy Valley set the tone early, and senior Sage Haun played a large part of it. Haun has been selected as the Week 2 Climate Controllers Player of the Week for his performance in Happy Valley’s dominating 45-0 win over Cloudland. The senior quarterback went 5-of-6 passing for 138 yards to set the tone for the Warriors. Haun finished the night with two touchdowns through the air in addition to one on the ground. Elizabethton, Hampton remain ranked in AP poll

Carter County continued to have a strong presence in the Tennessee AP Prep Football poll. In Class 3A, the Cyclones dropped a spot to No. 8 after the heartbreaking loss to Science Hill. Elizabethton tallied 40 points in the poll – just six spots behind No. 7 Dyersburg. The 3A poll had some movement as Liberty Magnet dropped from No. 2 to No. 6. Cyclones fall in double OT thriller

It was an instant classic. However, the ball didn’t bounce the Cyclones way. Elizabethton came up short in double OT as Science Hill held on for a 28-21 victory over the Cyclones inside Citizen’s Bank Stadium. In the back-and-forth battle, Elizabethton struck first as Carter Everett found Conner Johnson for a 29-yard touchdown to give EHS an early 7-0 lead. Happy Valley rolls to win at Cloudland

The Warriors sent a statement to open 2016. Happy Valley opened the 2016 season in a big way as they rolled to a 45-0 victory over Cloudland at Orr Field on Friday night. The Warriors open the season 1-0 while Cloudland falls to 0-2. Neither team was able to get anything going on the opening possessions, but the Warriors started in great field position after a bad snap on a punt.
