All-Carter County Team Unveiled

The 2017 All-Carter County Team for football has been unveiled. Our panel selected 18 student-athletes from Cloudland, Elizabethton, Hampton, Happy Valley and Unaka for their performance on the football field this season. Cloudland takes wins at Happy Valley

Cloudland picked up a pair of road victories on Tuesday on Warrior Hill. The ‘Landers and Lady ‘Landers came out on top as the Cloudland boys picked up a 55-54 overtime victory over the Warriors, while the Lady ‘Landers took advantage of a slow Happy Valley start to take a 49-30 victory. Warriors, Lady Warriors pick up wins

It was a Happy Valley sweep on Warrior Hill. The Lady Warriors and Warriors picked up nonconference wins over University High as the HV ladies won 58-20 and the HV boys picked up a 74-65 win. In the boys’ game, Happy Valley found themselves down 15 points in the first half. However, the Warriors took control in the second half to pull ahead of the visiting Bucs. Vols drop season finale to Vanderbilt

The Tennessee Volunteers concluded the 2017 football season Saturday with a 42-24 loss to Vanderbilt at Neyland Stadium in front of 83,117. After a close start, Vanderbilt (5-7, 1-7 SEC) took a 21-14 lead shortly before halftime with a touchdown. While Tennessee (4-8, 0-8) came within four points on a 49-yard field goal by Aaron Medley, the Commodores pulled away and eventually out-gained Tennessee 529 to 238 yards. Lady Warriors to host annual Thanksgiving Classic

The annual Happy Valley Thanksgiving Classic is set to tip off on Friday afternoon. The tournament, which features both JV and Varsity teams from around the area, will be held on Warrior Hill.
