It was another tough week to determine the Climate Controllers Player of the Week. The Week 7 honoree, however, ran ahead of the pack.

Cloudland’s Colby Birchfield picked up his second Climate Controllers’ Player of the Week honoree with an impressive performance at Unaka on Friday night.

The senior running back tallied 264 yards on 22 carries. Birchfield claimed a season high five touchdowns in the game to power Cloudland to a 52-14 victory.

The win improved Cloudland to 5-2 on the season – including a perfect 3-0 in conference play.

For the season, Birchfield surpassed the 1,000-yard mark during the game.

He joins Hampton’s Coby Jones as a two-time honoree this season. Other honorees include Hampton’s Jerry Lunsford, Unaka’s Micah Hunt and Elizabethton’s Jacob Turner.

Cloudland returns to action on Friday with a trip to Sullivan East.
