It was another week of standout performances. However, one stood out above the rest.

Cloudland’s Colby Birchfield scored four touchdowns in the ‘Landers’ win over rival Avery County (N.C.), and the senior has been named the Climate Controllers Player of the Week.

Birchfield had 28 carries for 206 yards, and scored four touchdowns to help the Cloudland offense roll to over 400 total offensive yards. In addition, he had five tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

The running back joins Hampton’s Coby Jones and Jerry Lunsford as well as Unaka’s Micah Hunt as honorees so far this season.

Birchfield and the ‘Landers are 3-1 on the season, and host Concord Christian on Friday night for Homecoming 2015.
