Brackets set for 2017 playoffs

The brackets for the 2017 TSSAA Playoffs are set.

In Class A, top-seed from Region 1-A Cloudland (8-2) will welcome Region 2-A No. 4 Midway (5-5) to Orr Field for first-round action with the winner advancing to play the winner of Region 2-A No. 2 Coalfield (9-1) and Region 1-A No. 3 Hancock County (2-8).

The ‘Landers will have home field until Cookeville.

The winner of Region 2-A No. 3 Oliver Springs (3-7) and Region 1-A No. 2 Jellico (4-6) will face Region 2-A No. 1 Greenback (9-1) in the second round. Greenback earned a buy by finished first as Region 1-A only had three playoff teams this season after Unaka was placed on probation due to last season’s playoff forfeit.

In Class 2A, Region 1-2A No. 3 Hampton (4-6) will travel to Region 2-2A Rockwood (7-3) for the opening round. The winner of that content will meet the winner of Region 1-A No.1 Sullivan North (7-3), who will host, Region 2 No. 4 Cumberland Gap (7-3).

Region 1-2A Happy Valley (7-3) will host Region 2-2A Onieda (6-4) on Warrior Hill in the first round. The Happy Valley/Oneida winner will advance to play the winner of Region 2-2A Meigs County (10-0) and Region 1-2A No. 4 South Greene (3-7).

In Class 4A, Region 1-4A No. 2 Elizabethton (8-2) will be in the second set of games at the top of the bracket. The Cyclones will take on Region 2-A No.3  Sequoyah with the winner advancing to play the winner of Region 1-4A No. 1 Grainger County (7-3) and Region 2-4A Anderson County (10-0) in the second round.

In the top half of that quad, Region 1-4A Greeneville (10-0) will host Region 2-4A No. 4 East Ridge (7-3) with the winner advancing to take on the winner of Region 2-4A No. 2 Chattanooga Central  (6-4) and Region 1-4A No.3 Sullivan South (7-3).

All playoff games are set to start at 7 p.m.
