The Bulldogs braved Mother Nature but came of short on Monday.

Hampton dropped a 9-5 decision to the Bucs in a game that looked like a winter wonderland at times with snow – including a delay while a heavier shower passed through.

The Bulldogs saw UH take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but got one of the runs back in the second. After the Bucs added two more in the home side of the fourth, Hampton added a run in the top of the fifth and sixth.

However, UH added five total runs over those two innings to maintain their advantage.

The Bulldogs looked to rally in the seventh as they plated two runs. However, it was not enough to catch up the Bucs.

Dalton Rouse was 2-for-4 at the plate for Hampton included a double and a RBI. Rouse was handed the loss on the mound despite striking out six batters and allowing just four earned runs.

For the Bucs, Cas Blevins limited the Bulldogs to just one earned run on five hits in five innings of work.
