Elizabethton and Cloudland moved up the Tennessee AP Prep Football poll for Week 4, while Hampton narrowly missed the top 10.

The Cyclones climbed to No. 3 in Class 4A after dismantling Sullivan East on Friday. Elizabethton tallied 99 points in the poll.


Greeneville was an unanimous No. 1 selection, while Anderson County was No. 2.

In Class A, the ‘Landers moved up one spot to No. 7 coming off the bye week. Cloudland jumped ahead of last week’s No. 5 Lake County.

Greenback continued to stay in control of the poll receiving 13 of 14 first-place votes. South Pittsburg, Cornersville and Huntingdon remained ranked 2-4 in the poll.

In Class 2A, Hampton received votes – just seven points behind No. 10 Westmoreland. Region 1-2A foe Sullivan North jumped to No. 5 in the poll.

Other local teams ranked include David Crockett (No. 9 in Class 5A), Daniel Boone (No. 10 in 5A) and Johnson County (No. 9 in Class 3A).
