Cloudland and Elizabethton continued to hold steady in this week’s Tennessee AP Prep Football poll.
In Class A, the ‘Landers held steady at No. 6 with 80 points. Cloudland was 19 points behind No. 5 Whitwell. CHS snapped a three-game losing streak to Happy Valley on Friday with an 8-7 victory.
The top seven teams in Class A remained unchanged.
Greenback received all but one first-place vote to claim No. 1, while South Pittsburg and Cornersville were No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
In Class 4A, the Cyclones remained at No. 3. EHS tallied 129 points – 13 points behind No. 2 Anderson County.
Elizabethton took a 35-21 win over Tennessee High on Friday night.
Greeneville remained the top team in the state claiming all 16 first-place votes. The top-six teams held steady in the poll.
Other local teams ranked included Sullivan North (No. 7 in Class 2A), Johnson County (No. 7 in Class 3A), David Crockett (No. 4 in Class 5A), Daniel Boone (No. 8 in Class 5A) and Tennessee High (No. 9 in Class 5A).
Elizabethton will take the traditional bye week this coming week, while Cloudland will host Unaka for Homecoming on Friday night.
