Just a game away from picking up their first win of the season, Cloudland baseball continued to make some noise.

The ‘Landers erased a 9-3 deficit with 11 runs in the sixth inning to take a 14-10 victory over University High on Monday in Roan Mountain.

Cloudland entered the home side of the sixth down 9-3, but the CHS bats came alive. The ‘Landers put a punctuation mark on the rally as Dillion Johnson hit a grand slam to clear the bases and give CHS a 14-9 lead.

CHS was able to hold the Bucs to just one run in the final side to secure the win.

Noah Arnett went 4-for-4 at the plate, while Johnson finished 1-for-3 with 4 RBI. Logan Ingram was 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. Brinkley Mull also added two hits for Cloudland.

Mark Tester picked up the win on the mound for Cloudland.

The two teams are set to wrap up the district series on Tuesday in Johnson City.
