Cloudland rolls past Unaka

Cloudland celebrated Homecoming 2016 in style.

The ‘Landers picked up a 72-6 victory over Unaka for Homecoming on Friday night at Orr Field.


Cloudland improves to 3-4 on the season, while the Rangers fall to 1-6.

Senior Noah Arnett rushed for 157 yards on 11 carries and four touchdowns for the ‘Landers, while freshman Hunter Blair added two scores and 69 yards on four carries.

Josh Blair tallied two carries for 61 yards. Preston Benfield added two total touchdowns – one through the air and another on the ground – for Cloudland.

Sophomore Malachi Benfield also recorded an interception for a touchdown on a 60-yard return.

Dakota Gallimore went 5-of-13 passing for the Rangers, and scored on a 71-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Cloudland led 32-0 at the end of the first quarter after scoring nine points in the first two minutes – including a safety as Jason Potter jumped on an errant snap.

The ‘Landers will welcome Sullivan East to Orr Field next Friday, while Unaka will travel to Oakdale.
