The Cyclones wanted to avoid a letdown in Mountain City, and Carter Everett made sure it was smooth sailing.

Everett tallied four combined touchdowns as Elizabethton set the tone early to roll to a 47-0 victory over Johnson County for the first win of the season.

Everett capped off the opening drive with a 22-yard run and then a one-yard score to help the Cyclones take an early 7-0 lead. After the defense forced a quick Longhorn series, Everett found Evan Perkins for a 15-yard touchdown pass to give EHS a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The sophomore signal caller scored his third total touchdown of the night on a six-yard run. Elizabethton continued to control the game, and Conner Johnson ran underneath an Everett pass for another EHS score. Jacob Turner capped off the scoring in the first half with a seven-yard run as the Cyclones took a 34-0 advantage into the half.

Corey Russell got in the scoring act in the second half after he hit Johnson off an Everett lateral. Austin Outland capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 20-yard run.

Everett finished with 205 total yards as he had 139 passing yards going 8-of-12 and adding 66 yards on eight carries. Turner added 151 yards in the game. Corey Russell had 112 yards of total offense, while Logan Norman added 11 carries for 68 yards.
