Elizabethton scored early and often to celebrate Homecoming 2016.

The Cyclones rolled to a 63-6 victory over Claiborne on Friday night in Citizen’s Bank Stadium.

EHS got in the groove early as sophomore Corey Russell scored on a five-yard touchdown in the opening minutes of the contest. On the next Cyclone drive, Russell scored on a screen pass from Carter Everett.

After Claiborne got on the board and the teams traded possessions, Russell took a punt back 83 yards to give EHS a 21-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Everett found Ryan Wentzel for a 20-yard score to open the second quarter. Everett got his third touchdown of the night as he hit Connor Johnson for a 17-yard touchdown.

The Cyclones picked up where they left off to open the third quarter as Everett and Johnson connected again – this time for a 34-yard touchdown. Logan Norman and Alex Norwood scored rushing touchdowns, while Austin Outland added a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown.
