Cyclones roll past Union Co. to celebrate Homecoming

Elizabethton celebrated Homecoming in style.

The Cyclones scored early and often in a 54-13 victory over Union County at Citizen’s Bank Stadium for Homecoming 2018.


With the win, Elizabethton improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in region action setting the stage for a battle of unbeatens next Friday night in Greeneville.

On Friday, EHS took care of business with no problem.

The Cyclones jumped out to a 21-0 lead and quickly turned that into a 48-6 lead at the half.

A number of EHS players found the end zone throughout the game.

Carter Everett finished the game 13-of-15 for 259 yards and six touchdowns with Corey Russell and Evan Perkins catching two touchdowns a piece. Perkins had 90 yards receiving on four catches, and Russell added 85 receiving yards on five catches.

Austin Outland had nine carries for 61 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Gavin Lowe also added seven carries for 43 yards.

Elizabethton’s attention now turns to the state’s top-ranked team Greeneville. The Cyclones, who are ranked No. 3 in the state, will make the trip to Greeneville to take on the Green Devils next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
