The brackets for the District 1-A tournament have been unveiled.

The tournament is slated to begin on Friday, Feb. 16, and run through Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Daniel Boone High School.


On the boys’ side, Hampton captured the top spot with North Greene earning the two seed. Both teams clinched a bye and regional berth.

In the No. 4 vs. No. 5 match-up, Cloudland will take on Sullivan North Friday at 5:30 with the winner advancing to meet No. 1 Hampton as well as securing a regional berth. No. 3 UH will take on No. 6 Unaka in the Friday nightcap with the winner moving on to take No. 2 North Greene and the Region 1-A tournament.

The No.1 Hampton vs. No. 4 Cloudland/No. 5 North game is set for 5:30 on Saturday, with the second semifinal between No. 2 North Greene and No. 3 UH/No. 6 Unaka is set for 8:30.

The championship tilt is set for 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday night with the consolation game set for Monday at 7:30 p.m.

On the girls’ side, North Greene and Hampton clinched the top two seeds of the tournament and region berths. The Lady Huskies clinched the top seed of the tournament with a win over Sullivan North on Monday, while the Lady Bulldogs will be the No. 2 seed.

No. 4 Cloudland will take on No. 5 North at 4 p.m. on Friday with the winner advancing to Saturday’s semifinal against the No. 1 seed. No. 3 Unaka will take on No. 6 University High at 7 p.m. on Friday with the winner advancing to take on the No. 2 seed.

Semifinal times are set for 4 p.m. (No. 1 North Greene vs. No. 4 Cloudland/No. 5 North) and 7 p.m. (No. 2 Hampton vs. No. 3 Unaka/No. 6 UH), and both of Friday’s winners will earn a spot in the Region 1-A tournament.
