EHS, HHS remain ranked, HV receives votes

After Week 3, two Carter County teams continued to remain ranked in the Tennessee AP Prep Football poll, while another just narrowly missed the top 10.

Elizabethton and Hampton remained ranked inside the top 10 in their respective classes. Both schools have been ranked since the preseason poll. Happy Valley was just one point shy of ranking inside the top 10.

The Cyclones climbed a spot to No. 8 in Class 3A after their decisive victory over Johnson County last week. EHS tallied 42 points in the poll.

Alcoa maintained the top spot with all 13 first-place votes, with Notre Dame and CAK rounding out the top three.

In Class 2A, Hampton held steady at No. 7 after rolling past Cosby. The Bulldogs tallied 55 points – including a first-place vote – to maintain the ranking.

Marion County picked up nine first-place votes to take the top spot, while Adamsville and Trezevant was No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

The Warriors tallied 18 points in Class 2A which was just one point shy of No. 10 Tyner. Happy Valley is 2-0 on the season.
