Elizabethton earns District 1-3A awards

The Cyclones were well-presented in the District 1-3A postseason awards.

Elizabethton quarterback Hunter Tyree was named the Offensive Player of the Year for the region, while Cameron Coleman was named the lineman of the year.

Freshman Corey Russell was also selected as the newcomer of the year.

Elizabethton Head Coach Shawn Witten was named the Coach of the Year.

In addition to the honors, Jalen Smith, Jeremiah Turner, Drew Bowers, Preston Whitehead, Mark Chesser, Kaleb Whitehead, Johnny Woodby, Alex Norwood and Russell Carter were named to the All-Conference team, while Jacob Turner, Conner Johnson, Chandlor Mullins, Luke White and Scotty Oliver were named to the honorable mention team.

The Cyclones finished the season with a 10-2 record – including winning 10 straight games.
