The Elizabethton Cyclones will start the 2015 season ranked inside the Tennessee prep AP polls.

The Cyclones will kick off 2015 ranked seventh in the Class 3A poll. Elizabethton is coming off an 8-3 season, which ended in the first round of the playoffs with a loss at Knoxville Catholic. It will be a different season as Elizabethton has to replace Ethan Thomas and also has to fill the void left by an injury to Caleb Jones.

However, the Cyclones have plenty of firepower and look to make a run. Elizabethton, however, won’t kick off the 2015 season until Week 2 when they travel to Science Hill.

In Class 2A, Hampton received votes, but was not ranked inside the top 10. The Bulldogs return plenty of firepower from last season’s 9-2 campaign, including quarterback Coby Jones and running back duo Adam McClain and Jerry Lunsford. New region foe Gatlinburg-Pittman was ranked 10th in the poll.

The Bulldogs will kick off the 2015 season on Friday night at Avery County (N.C.).
