Elizabethton sweeps past North

It was a sweeping kind of night for Elizabethton on Friday night.

The Cyclones and Lady Cyclones picked up wins over Sullivan North in Three Rivers Conference action in Kingsport.

The Lady Cyclones picked up a decisive 96-26 victory over the Lady Raiders to remain perfect on the year.  The state’s No. 1 Class AA team scored 60 points in the first half, and was paced by 22 points from Emily Kiser.

Kayla Marosites tallied 18 points while Kelci Marosites recorded 13 points. Sarah Robinson and Melenda Perry had 10 and eight points, respectively.  Haley Burleson also added eight points.

In the boys’ game, the Cyclones jumped out to a 10-point lead after a quarter of play and rolled to a 68-69 victory. Tyler Nichols tallied 18 points in the win, while Bo Pless tossed in 12 points.

Both the Cyclones and Lady Cylones return to action on Saturday night with a trip to Unicoi County.
