The first Climate Controllers Player of the Week was a tough decision, but one performance stood out above the rest.

Elizabethton’s Parker Hughes was selected as the Climate Controllers Player of the Week for Week 1 with his performance in the Cyclones’ major win over Science Hill.

In the opening week, Hughes caught five passes for 97 yards with two touchdowns. The sophomore also caught a 52-yard catch on a double pass that put EHS back in contention.

It was the first win over Science Hill for Elizabethton in nine seasons.

Hughes and company are set to host South Greene on Friday night.
