Elizabethton’s Preston Whitehead picked up a prestigious honor on Wednesday.

The senior linebacker was named to the Class 3A TSWA All-State team in recognition of his outstanding season.

Whitehead had just over 100 tackles as a key piece to the Cyclone defense. In addition, he added five tackles for loss and three sacks to spark a defense that limited opponents to just over 15 points per game.

Elizabethton reeled off 10 straight wins to have a 10-2 season – including a first-round playoff win over Scott County.
