Update 1:06 on 2/25: The Hampton-Northview Academy has been postponed until Thursday.
I don’t know if I remember a day that has been as busy when there has been zero games, and Mother Nature is doing anything other than cooperate.
For Wednesday, here is the schedule as we have it. The Elizabethton boys will open the Region 1-AA tournament against Cumberland Gap at 3:30 p.m. inside Treadway Gymnasium while the Hampton boys will open the Region 1-A tournament by hosting Northview Academy at 5 p.m.
Both of those games, which were rescheduled from Tuesday, were originally slated for 7 p.m. tipoffs, but the impending weather forced schools to alter the schedule once again.
In the Region 1-AA girls tournament, Elizabethton will try to earn a berth in the regional championship as well as another trip to the substate as they take on Chuckey-Doak at 4 p.m. That game will be held at Sullivan East with the other semifinal (Grainger vs. Greeneville) to be held at 5:30.
Finally, the Region 1-A girls tournament pushed the semifinals back to Thursday. The Region 1-A tournament will feature both the boys and girls semifinals in the schedule that was slated to be held on Wednesday.
However, this schedule is movable as Mother Nature threatens us with more snow on Wednesday night and Thursday. With that said, be sure to follow us on Twitter @CarterCoSports and like us on Facebook (click here) to stay up-to-date with the latest information.
