Everett earns second Climate Controller honor of season

For the second time this season, Carter Everett’s performance stood out above the rest.

The Elizabethton senior has been named the Climate Controllers Player of the Week for Week 8 after recording six touchdowns in an incredible performance against Union County on Homecoming night.

It is the second time this season that Everett has captured Climate Controllers Player of the Week honors as he was also selected Week 3 for his dominate performance against Sullivan East.

On Friday night, the quarterback was nearly flawless against Union County. Everett finished the game 13-of-15 passing for 259 yards. He ended the game with six touchdowns.

For the season, the senior is 89-of-119 passing for 1,460 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has a quarterback rating of 151.6.

Everett is one of three Cyclones that have received Climate Controllers Player of the Week honors this season as Parker Hughes and Corey Russell have also been selected. Other honorees include Hampton’s Lane Potter, Cloudland’s offensive line and Jordan Coffey and Unaka’s John Boy Ramsey.

Everett and company are set to travel to Greeneville on Friday night for a clash of top-ranked teams. The Cyclones are ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, while Greeneville was a unanimous No. 1 in this week’s poll.
