In the final week of the regular season, the Hampton Bulldogs looked to Dylan Ford to fill in quarterback and he didn’t disappoint.

For his performance in the victory over Cloudland, Ford has earned the final regular season Applebee’s Player of the Week. Ford and company claimed the Mountain East title outright with a thrilling 22-20 victory, and earned a No. 2 seed and bye in the playoffs.

Against the ‘Landers, Ford had 10 carries for 23 yards, while he went 2-for-4 passing for 40 yards and a score. Defensively, Ford provided lockdown coverage in the secondary that kept Cloudland grounded for most of the night. Ford also handled punting duties as he averaged an impressive 27.2 yards per kick.

Ford joins Hampton teammates Coby Jones, Jerry Lunsford and Zach Guinn as selections for the Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week. Other honorees include Ethan Thomas (Elizabethton), Phillip Garland (Happy Valley), Micah Hunt (Unaka), Colby Birchfield (Cloudland) and Zac Benfield (Cloudland).
