Friday night saw Happy Valley get in the win column and also saw a senior deliver a performance worthy of the Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week award.
Phillip Garland scored four touchdowns to power the Warriors to their first win of the season over Unicoi and earned our Applebee’s Player of the Week honor.
Garland finished the game with 168 yards on 23 carries with the four scores. The performance gave Garland 741 yards on the season.
Garland joins Hampton’s Jerry Lunsford, Hampton’s Coby Jones, Unaka’s Micah Hunt, Cloudland’s Colby Birchfield, Cloudland’s Zac Benfield and Elizabethton’s Ethan Thomas.
