With one team remaining, it is time to honor the All-Carter County team for boys’ basketball.
Player of the Year: Nathan Norris, Hampton
Norris played a pivotal role in leading Hampton to Thursday’s state quarterfinals. Norris found a groove towards the end of the year – especially behind the arc. The senior helped Hampton take a clean sweep of the District 1-A titles as well as the Region 1-A championship.
Co-Coaches of the Year: Gary Harrison, Cloudland/Ned Smith, Hampton
Harrison and Smith led their respective squads to outstanding seasons. Smith’s squad is making their third consecutive trip to Murfreesboro after rolling through the postseason. Harrison saw his Cloudland team advance to the Region 1-A tournament after a two-year absence after finishing second in the District 1-A race.
In addition to Norris, the Bulldogs see senior Coby Jones and junior Adam McClain make the first team. Joining the Hampton group is a pair of Cyclones in Michael Robinson and Bo Pless. Cloudland’s Preston Benfield rounds out the first team after a strong junior campaign for the ‘Landers.
