Hampton rolls past Cosby for third straight win

Hampton kept on rolling on Friday night.

The Bulldogs cruised to a 54-14 win over Cosby for their third straight victory. With the win, Hampton finished the regular season with a 4-6 record and will enter the playoffs as the No. 3 seed from Region 1-2A.


The Bulldogs struck quickly.

Hunter Davenport found the end zone from seven yards out and Alex Hardin hit Gavin Hardin for the conversion to give HHS an 8-0 lead. Davenport struck again with a 38-yard touchdown and Jason Russell pushed the lead to 16-0 after a quarter of play with the conversion.

Russell and the Bulldog left no doubt in the second.

Russell added a rushing a touchdown while throwing a 44-yard touchdown to Styler Cole and a 20-yard touchdown pass to Davenport.

Hampton led 40-7 at the break.

Davenport and Caleb Oaks added rushing touchdowns in the second half to account for the final score.

Davenport finished with just over 200 yards all across the board, while Russell added 102 yards through the air.
