Consistent scoring was in Hampton’s favor but Tia Dailey and Madison Bunch had second thoughts.

The duo led Morristown East 23 points toward a 46-35 triumph over the Lady Bulldogs (7-6) in the fifth place game of the Johnson City Honda Trailblazer Classic held on Tuesday.

It was consistency on both sides we them teams nearly staying the same in the first half with Morristown East boasting a 19-18 lead.

Morristown East had their defense do the dirty work in the second half, holding the Lady ‘Dogs to just 17 points while Daily (12), Bunch (11) and six second-half points from Erin Click doing the job.

A pair of sophomore led Hampton with Tatum Street and Alexus Grubbs going for eight apiece. Freshman Shyanne Tuelle added six while Kim Swearingen, Madi Weir, Hope Bridgeman and Megan Garland rounded out the scoring for the ball club.

Hampton awaits conference action on Friday with a trip to Johnson City to face University High. Junior varsity tips off at 3:30 p.m. while the varsity tips off at 6:30 p.m.
