Happy Valley finally got the revenge.

The Warriors avenged last season’s heartbreaking playoff loss with a 48-3 victory over Rockwood on Warrior Hill in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs.

HV is set to host Knoxville Grace Christian in the second round.

The Warriors jumped out early and never looked back.

Dustun Sams scored inside the first minute on a short touchdown – which was set-up by a long Dylan Street run on the first play of the game – Dylan Townsend had a scoop and score on a Tiger fumble and subsequent 54-yard return. That gave Happy Valley a 13-0 lead in the opening minutes, and that was the score heading into the second.

From there, it was all Warriors as HV recorded a 29-point second quarter to take a 42-3 lead at the half.

Street finished with three touchdowns in the game along with 229 yards on six carries. Austin Hicks had 85 receiving yards to go along with 20 rushing yards.
