Happy Valley got the job done on Friday night.
The Warriors moved into the District 1-AA semifinals with a 57-47 victory over Sullivan South. The win also clinches the first Region 1-AA berth for HV in three seasons.
Happy Valley will take on Sullivan East on Saturday night.
After the Rebels took a 12-6 lead, the Warriors battled back with shots from Brayden Sams and Bryce Carter to trim the gap to two points heading to the second.
The Warriors opened the second with an Isaiah Rhodes jumper along with an old-fashioned 3-point play from Chris Young to take the lead, and slowly extended it to six points.
HV led 26-20 at the break.
The Rebels closed the gap to four points to open the third quarter, but Jacob Surcey snapped the run with a bucket and one. The Warriors maintained the advantage going to the fourth with a 38-29 lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Warriors kept South at bay over the course of the period to move on to the next round.
Carter led Happy Valley with 13 points. Austin Hicks added eight points, while Sams tallied seven points.
