Hunt recognized as Player of the Week

This week’s Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week celebrated Homecoming in a big way.

Micah Hunt has been named the player of the week after his performance against Hancock County on Friday night. Hunt helped his Unaka squad pick up the 50-24 victory on both sides of the ball.

On offensive, Hunt recorded 174 yards on 12 carries for three scores, while two interceptions, including one returned 54 yards for a touchdown, led the way for the defense.

Hunt is the first Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week selection from Unaka. Other honorees include Elizabethton’s Ethan Thomas, Cloudland’s Colby Birchfield and Zac Benfield, Hampton’s Jerry Lunsford and Coby Jones.
