After a week of using the ground game to roll past Avery, the Bulldogs went through the air to pound Johnson County. As a result, senior quarterback Coby Jones has been named the Climate Controllers’ Player of the Week for Week 2.

Jones went 10-of-13 passing with 289 yards and four touchdowns. All of Jones’ stats came in the first half as the Bulldogs led 50-14 at the half, which was also the final score.

The senior also added 17 yards rushing on three carries in the game.

Jones and the Bulldogs are 2-0 on the season, and the quarterback joins running back Jerry Lunsford as honorees in the player of the week award. The Hampton defense was also named the Applebee’s Unit of the Week last week.

Hampton will host Cosby on Friday night to open region play.
