The Lady Cyclones kept their road to repeat alive and well on Wednesday afternoon.

Elizabethton secured a spot in the Region 1-AA Championship tilt as well as Monday night’s sectional with a 77-45 victory over Chuckey-Doak on Wednesday at Sullivan East.

The win moves the Lady Cyclones into the title game against Grainger County.

After the teams traded points early, Kelci Marosites drained a 3-pointer and Melenda Perry added a bucket to give Elizabethton a 13-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Lady Black Knights opened the second quarter with a trey, but Megan Pietrowski and Perry hit shots to snap the Chuckey-Doak run. That sparked a 12-2 Elizabethton run that was capped by a Haley Burleson jumper. Kayla Marosites took over the rest of the way as she scored 11 straight points for Elizabethton and Ke. Marosites added a jumper to send the Lady Cyclones to the locker room with a 43-22 lead at the half.

However, Sarah Robinson knocked down a pair of free throws, Ka. Marosites added a jumper and Perry took advantage of an and-one to power Elizabethton to a 54-37 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Ke. Marosites and company made sure there were no thoughts of a comeback. Six straight points from Ke. Marosites sparked an 18-0 run that saw four different Lady Cyclones score to secure the win for Elizabethton.
