Hannah Tipton and Ashley Doss played the role on Longhorn wranglers Tuesday night.
The duo combined for 28 points en route for Unaka to score a 53-33 triumph Tuesday night in Stoney Creek.
Five Johnson County players scored a bucket in the first quarter but Tipton and Doss each drilled six points each in the first frame to allow the Lady Rangers to go on top 14-10 heading into the second period.
Tipton (game-high 17 points) tacked on another six points in the second quarter but was joined by five apiece from Katlyn Burrow and Madison Ensor to outscore Johnson County 20-4, rolling into halftime with a 34-14 lead.
The stingy defense continued in the second half, including five steals from Doss, to propel the Creeks toward victory.
Doss dropped 11 points to go into double-figure scoring, Burrow and Ensor finished with their five each while Katlyn Weaver added four with Cheyenne Drew.
Lexi Garland chipped in a 3-pointer and was joined by two points each from Renya Austin and Sierra Wright to round out the scoring for Unaka.
The Lady Rangers will open pre-Christmas tournament action on Friday, competing in the annual North Greene Classic held in Baileyton, Tenn.
