Junior Lady Cyclone Kelci Marosites (12 points) surpassed the 1,000th-point plateau at the 3:22 mark of the second quarter and Elizabethton recorded win No. 16 in a 69-25 triumph over Sullivan South on Friday inside John Treadway Gym.
The win gives the Lady Cyclones solo possession of first place in the Three Rivers Conference unscathed at 5-0.
In a game field with offense, it was a defensive effort that locked down the Lady Rebels.
Ke. Marosites and Sarah Robinson each clocked in buckets late but Sullivan South would keep it within single digits, trailing 14-6 at the end of the first frame.
The Lady Cyclones cranked out 23 points heading into the second half while limiting the Lady Rebels to just four points.
A scoring drought was on for Sullivan South, who were held scoreless from around the two minute mark of the second to the 4:09 part of the third quarter.
Ten players eclipsed the scoring column in the triumph. Kayla Marosites recorded 13 points while Melenda Perry added double figure scoring with 11 points.
Across the board, Robinson, Megan Pietrowski combined for 17 points. Emily Kiser, Haley Burleson, Emily Schubert, Autumn Lyon and Bailey Montgomery each got in the board for Elizabethton.
Kelci Marosites joined sister, Kayla, in the 1,000th point club in the win …Friday‚Äôs win was the fourth game in a row the Lady Cyclones went past the 60-point total in a win.
