Cloudland wrapped up District 1-A play in style.

The Lady ‘Landers rolled to a 48-30 lead over North Greene, while the ‘Landers narrowly edged the Huskies 68-60 in overtime.

In the girls’ game, Cloudland set the tone early as Shian Strickland hit three 3-pointers to push CHS to a 14-7 lead after a quarter of play. The Lady ‘Landers maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter to lead 24-18.

After the teams played nearly even in the third, Cloudland outscored the Lady Huskies 18-5 in the fourth quarter to take the victory.

Strickland finished with 21 points. Lisa Ellis added 11 points.

The boys’ game was a back-and-forth affair.

After Cloudland led 18-13 at the end of the first quarter, the Huskies battled back to take a 24-23 lead into the half.

Preston Benfield fired seven points in the third quarter as CHS regained the lead. The teams swapped points throughout the final eight minutes and remained tied at the end of regulation.

The ‘Landers limited NG to just three points in the extra period as CHS outscored the Huskies 11-3 to take the win.

Benfield had 22 points to lead Cloudland. Josh Blair added 13 points.
