Kayla Marosites added an impressive honor to her storied career on Sunday afternoon.

Marosites was named the Class AA Miss Basketball for her performance during her junior season.

Marosites averaged just over 21 points per game. She averaged 7.6 rebounds per game, 4.3 steals per game and 3.5 assists per game.

The junior guard shot 54.8% from the field, 45.2% from behind the 3-point line and just over 86 percent from the free throw line.

Marosites was named to the All-Tournament team for her performance in Elizabethton’s quarterfinal and semifinal games during this week’s Class AA tournament. It was the third straight year she was named to the All-Tournament team, including last year’s Most Valuable Player honors.

Marosites surpassed the 1,000 point mark for her career this season, and was named to the All-District and All-Region teams.

Elizabethton finished with a 32-1 record after falling in the Class AA semifinals to eventual champion MLK.
