It was a year to remember for Kayla Marosites. The accomplishments the rising senior earned on the court made her the unanimous pick for the Best of Carter County Sports Female Athlete of the Year.
Marosites powered the Lady Cyclones to a 32-1 record and a state semifinal run. However, the biggest accomplishment belonged to Marosites as she was named the Class AA Miss Basketball.
During her junior campaign, she averaged 20 points and seven rebounds a game, while adding four assists and steals per game. Marosites passed the 1,000-point mark for her career early in the season.
The Lady Cyclones won 50 straight games before falling in the state tournament to Martin Luther King Academy.
It is the second honor that Elizabethton has received in the Best of Carter County Sports as the Lady Cyclones basketball team captured the female team of the year.
