Hampton ended the regular season on a record-setting note.
The Bulldogs rolled to a 62-6 victory over Cumberland Gap on senior night at JC Campbell Stadium. During the game, senior Adam McClain set a new school record for most rushing yards in a season.
Climate Controllers Player of the Week Dakota Sanchez opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown for Hampton, but Cumberland Gap answered to tie the game at 6-6.
From there, there was no doubt. Hunter Davenport, who surpassed 1,000 yards for the season during the game, scored on a 79-yard touchdown run to give HHS a 14-6 lead, and Hampton never looked back. The Bulldogs scored 19 points in the second quarter to increase the lead to 47-6 at the break.
McClain finished with 232 yards and two touchdowns, while Davenport had 130 yards on four touches with two touchdowns.
Jason Russell added a passing touchdown with a 24-yard toss to Dakota Crumley. Seth Anderson also had a touchdown for Hampton.
