GREAT FALLS, Mont. (Dec. 13, 2014) – The Milligan College women’s basketball team was unable to overcome undefeated University of Great Falls Lady Argonauts Saturday evening, falling 94-60.

Milligan (2-11, 2-5 Appalachian Athletic Conference) managed to keep the game close throughout the first half, but the undefeated University of Great Falls (10-0, 0-0 Frontier Conference) held onto their lead, extending it to as much as 13 in the first half. The Lady Argos have defeated every team they have faced by 10 points or more, except Corban University who they only defeated by one point.

Hayley Wyrick, who led all scorers with 20 points, accounted for nearly half of Milligan’s points in the first half, and now has scored in double digits in every game this season, putting up 20 or more points in five games.

Despite the Buffs effort to rally, the Lady Argos dominated the second half, outscoring Milligan 51-27. Great Falls placed serious pressure on the Buffs, forcing 20 turnovers in the game, 16 of which came from steals. Stephanie McDonagh led the Argo assault, taking four steals and a block to help stop the Buffs chances at a comeback.

Milligan will play one more game in Montana against the University of Montana-Western Sunday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. This game will mark the final game of 2014 for the Buffs as they will not return to action until Jan. 3 when they take on Reinhardt University on the road.
