Monday Round-up: Hampton edges Cloudland

Hampton 5, Cloudland 3 (baseball)
Hampton scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good in a 5-3 victory over Cloudland.

After the Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, Cloudland responded with three runs over the fourth and fifth to take a 3-1 advantage into the home side of the fifth.

For Hampton, Wyatt Lyons and Dalton Rouse limited Cloudland to four hits in the game, while David Fleenor had three hits.

Dillion Johnson went 2-for-3 for the ‘Landers.

Elizabethton 11, Sullivan East 2 (softball)
The Lady Cyclones combined for 14 hits to power their way to an 11-2 victory over Sullivan East.

Maci West and Jessica Cunningham had three hits apiece, while West and Lauren Brickey had three RBIs. Macie Herrmann, Autumn Hensley and Brickey had two hits apiece.


In the circle, Kellie Cunningham picked up the win as she struck out eight Lady Patriots while just allowing two runs on three hits.

Elizabethton 5, Sullivan Central 0 (baseball)
Matthew Dailey pitched a complete game shutout to power the Cyclones to a 5-0 victory over Sullivan Central.

Michael Robinson and Evan Carter both went 2-for-3, while Brodie Adams and Evan Perkins added a hit a piece.

Dailey allowed just two hits on the mound and recorded six strikeouts.

Happy Valley 10, Sullivan North 1 (baseball)
The Warriors exploded for five runs in the second and never looked back in a 10-1 victory over Sullivan East.

Sage Haun went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Warriors, while Tyler Hurley went 2-for-4. In all, Happy Valley combined for 10 hits.

Dustun Sams picked up the win on the mound for Happy Valley. In five innings of work, he allowed just one run on seven hits while striking out seven Patriot batters.
