Monday Roundup: Lady ‘Landers, Rangers win county clashes

Cloudland 11, Hampton 4 (softball)
The Lady ‘Landers took an early lead and held on for a win over the Lady Bulldogs.

Cloudland took a 3-0 lead in the visiting side of the second as Gracie Cook, Johanna Johnson and Abbey Gouge crossed home plate, and extended the lead to 7-0 going to the bottom of the third.

Maddi Neuman and Kyte scored for Hampton in the bottom of the third, but Cloudland plated four runs in the sixth to secure the win.


Unaka 11, Cloudland 0 (Baseball)
Behind the arm of John Ramsey, the Rangers picked up a district win over Cloudland. Ramsey allowed two hits in five innings of work with 10 strikeouts.

Unaka jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning and added six runs in the home side of the third.

Davy Ensor went 2-for-4 at the plate, while Justin Houghton went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Dakota Gallimore, Blake King, John-Wesley Hardin and Isaac Hill all recorded a hit.

Mark Tester went 1-for-2 while Dillion Johnson went 1-for-1 for the ‘Landers.


Elizabethton 6, Sullivan North 0 (baseball)
The Cyclones took an early lead and never looked back to take a win over Sullivan North.

Elizabethton plated a run in the first and two more in the third to take control of the game.

Brodie Adams was dominating on the mound for Elizabethton in a complete game effort. Adams allowed just three hits while recording nine strikeouts.

Michael Robinson went 2-for-3, and Adams added a 2-for-4 performance at the plate. Both Robinson and Adams had two RBI apiece.

Elizabethton 9, Sullivan South 5 (softball)
The Lady Cyclones kept the momentum going from the weekend with a road Three Rivers win.

Autumn Hensley had a two-run homerun and Allison Riddle and Lauren Brickey had three hits apiece to power the offensive attack.
