It was a varsity split Thursday night on Warrior Hill.

The Happy Valley girls defended home court while the Hampton boys picked up a road win in non conference action.


The Lady Warriors used a strong third quarter to take a 62-48 victory over the Lady Bulldogs. In the boys’ game, Hampton outscored the Warriors 20-4 in the fourth quarter to take a 57-44 victory.

The varsity opener saw Kate Roberts lead the Lady Warriors with 15 points, while Haley Green added 14 points. Bayley McGee had eight points in the win for HV.

Hampton was paced by Alexus Grubbs as she recorded 16 points. Shy Tuelle had 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Wyatt Lyons netted a game-high 17 points to lead Hampton. Jose Velasquez and Charlie Butler had nine points for the Bulldogs.

Austin Hicks had 14 points to lead the Warriors. Sam Blevins and Chris Young had seven points apiece.
