It was a packed house in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Monday night, but Milligan was unable to pull off the upset.
The JV Buffaloes fell 100-78 to the University of North Carolina’s JV team in front of a sellout crowd. The match-up, which normally takes place at Chapel Hill, was able to be hosted by Milligan as a fundraiser.
Milligan went toe-to-toe with the visiting Tar Heels early, but a mid first half run was enough for UNC to pull away and cruise to the victory.
The UNC JV squad is hosted by Hubert Davis – who is a former NBA player and Carolina great.
Chase Phillips led Milligan with 15 points, while Jordan Stout had 10 points.
