Unaka made sure University High didn’t enjoy their trip on Stoney Creek on Tuesday.

The Rangers and Lady Rangers rolled to district victories over the visiting Jr. Bucs as the Unaka boys rolled to an 88-66 victory and the Lady Rangers cruised to a 68-36 victory.

In the nightcap, Dylan Carrier and Colton Chambers had 26 and 25 points, respectively to lead the Rangers to the win. Unaka, who led 29-25 at the half, outscored UH 30-21 in a fast paced third quarter to pull away and never looked back.

Kyler Lewis added 16 points, while Joe Searfoss added 12 points for the Rangers.

Dayshawn Hamilton led the Jr. Bucs with 20 points.

The girls’ game was much the same as the Lady Rangers ran to a 24-13 lead after a quarter of play. A 20-point second quarter helped Unaka hold a 44-21 lead at the half.

From there, it was all Unaka.

Hannah Tipton led the Lady Rangers with 13 points, while Lexi Garland and Katlyn Weaver added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Madison Ensor added seven points to the Unaka cause.

Lexi Crouthers led UH with a game-high 15 points.
