It was an overtime-thriller for Unaka at Hancock County.

The Rangers held on for a 52-50 victory in Sneedville on Thursday. The Lady Rangers picked up a 70-36 win.


After Unaka ran out to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter of the boys’ game, the Indians quickly returned the favor to close within four points at the half. The teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the game – forcing an extra period.

Kyler Lewis came up big for the Rangers as he put them up for good in the extra period. Lewis tallied 17 points, while Austin Beauprez had 14 points.

John Ramsey added 11 points in the victory.

The Lady Rangers cruised to a road victory on Thursday at Hancock County.

Myah Parlier led the way with 15 points Erika Potter and Kaitlyn Burrow had 12 and 10 points, respectively, while Sarah Tipton added nine points.

The Rangers and Lady Rangers host Cosby on Friday night.
